Jack Petchey Award Scheme
2006 AWARD WINNERS
Many Congratulations to all!
1st Quarter
MATT SALISBURY was nominated for his dedication to assisting the Under 9s and Under 11s with coaching sessions in bowling, fielding and batting techniques. His reliability and performance on the field for the 3rd XI as well as the Under 13s also made him a worthy winner.
Matt wishes his award money to be spent on coaching equipment (stumps, equipment bag, poles, mats, balls).
Here is Matt receiving the award from Jon Doel at Shenfield School.
2nd Quarter
MARTIN ALLEN was selected for the 2nd Quarter. He has contributed to Shenfield Cricket club both on and off the field. Through hard work he has emerged as a promising batsman and has been rewarded with some first team appearances. Off the field he gives up his time to assist with coaching of the Under 9s and Under 11s.
Martin is to spend his award money on coaching qualifications, including First Aid and Child Protection.
Here is Martin receiving his award from Stuart Borman, Colts Co-ordinator.
3rd Quarter
BEN VOWLES was nominated for his sterling performance on the field, primarily for the 3rd XI, throughout which he took six five wicket hauls and undoubtedly helped the 3rds in their promotion. His enthusiastic approach to the game is unquestionable as is his doggedness to bowl 15 overs on the bounce during many a game.
Of note is his motivation to the younger players during 'hard' games and he has therefore been, without doubt, one of the kingpins of the team.
With so much rain this summer, Ben has wisely decided that his award money should be used to purchase a Super Sopper.
Here is Ben receiving the award from the President, John Burrows, at the club's Annual Dinner & Dance on 13th October 2006.
4th Quarter
LUKE NEAL was nominated for his good attitude on and off the pitch. He assisted with the coaching of the colts under 13s during the summer months and showed great committment and patience whilst doing so. Luke shows great enthusiasm on the field and has been rewarded with some interesting spells of bowling and batting earning him the nickname of 'Barny'.
Luke's award money is to be contributed to the Score Box Disaster Fund.
Here is Luke, at school, receiving the award from Garry Sapsford.
