Shenfield Legends Spotted in Billericay!

The visit of former Shenfield player Peter Wright has prompted various gatherings. A barbecue hosted by his sister, Linda, and husband, Andrew Maxwell, brought about a reunion of a few other rarely seen Shenfield legends.
All the men on this page have played for Shenfield at one time or another and several were stars of the side-splitting Dratting Festivals.
Five of them can be seen in the 1974 Saturday 1st team photo and in the 1983 President's Day photo.See if you can spot them!
Alan Stewart, Dave Sewell, Peter Wright
Alan left just a few years ago and now lives in Royal Leamington Spa.
Dave left in 1986 and this is the first time we've seen him since then! He lives in Leighton Buzzard, with wife Sue.
Peter emigrated to Perth, Australia in 1972 and has made a few visits since, the last being five years ago.

Injury caused Dave Anderson to stop playing in 1988. He still lives locally, but is rarely seen! He and his wife, Linda, would receive a warm welcome on any visit to the club, so maybe they will manage that next season!
Bill Hindley is not quite such a stranger, although his work as boss of the Thriftwood Scout Camp site keeps him busy so he is not seen at the club that often. His two sons, Richard and Michael are regular players.
Andrew Maxwell, (Maxie) is a former captain, having originally come from Australia as our Overseas Player.
Chris Wright can be seen every Saturday during the season helping to get the ground ready and as a spectator during the matches.

Here's Dave Sewell and Peter Wright again, this time with Michael Wright who scores for the Saturday 1st XI. Michael started scoring when he was 8, went on to play and captain, then back to scoring! He is also the club's League Delegate and Ground Manager.
