Lady Umpire at Shenfield!

In their final match of the season, versus Fives & Heronians, Shenfield welcomed that rarest of species, a lady umpire, Rebecca Gruenfeld.
Rebecca, pictured with fellow umpire George Salmon, has recently been appointed to the Shepherd Neame Essex League umpires panel. She was born in Zimbabwe, moved to Australia in 2004 and subsequently to England in 2008. Although she is only 27, Rebecca has been umpiring for 9 years and has umpired in 5 different countries, including Australia, notably at The Gabba in Brisbane.
