Spring Winners x 3
Henry Austin has imposed himself as an all rounder player - at both U16 and adult team levels this year. Stepping up to the men’s 4th team this year, he has already scored two fifties in 2011 - and achieved his own best bowling performance of 3 for 11. He is captaining the club's U16 Matchplay team, and setting a good behavioural example to all his peers. He is focused at his squad's training sessions, and has proved very supportive of the club coaches, giving up his free time to assist with the junior age groups.
£200 grant will be used as:
A contribution towards the clubs new cricket net project.

George Ballington is a very keen cricketer who seeks every opportunity to play or practise, and is often seen around the club watching/seeking inspiration. In 2008 he represented the club in the district representative side. He scored his first 50 for the U13 team in 2010, and this season, aged 14, with a string of fine junior colt’s performances earned himself a spot opening the batting for the senior mens' 4th XI team. He duly replied by scoring his first 50 in senior cricket. His application and effort have made him a very popular nomination from players, parents and coaches.
£200 grant will be used for:
New equipment: Single Fielding Stumps - Incrediballs - bowling machine balls.

William Bowden has helped and supported his team manager in ensuring the club fields a team every week. Undertaking the captain's role he has gladly undertaken many administrative tasks - for both indoor and outdoor club cricket activities. His manner, honesty and attitude, in both victory and defeat, have earned him many accolades from parents and coaches alike. He has always shown great, positive enthusiasm, and looks to give support and encouragement to all.
£200 grant will be used:
Towards a new BBQ/patio light/heaters- for outside use by all members of the club.

Summer Winners x 3
Alex Rickenbach. After fine performances in the junior sides in his time with the club, this year he has been selected for the senior club's 4th X1, giving very solid performances. This involvement with the senior group has seen him mature into a more positive person on and off the field. However an injury has delayed his progress, although he has still shown great support to all his peers supporting/helping as he strives to regain his own fitness battle, and is a regular supporter at the club.
£200 grant will be used for:
Promoting/ supporting a special fund raising event at the clubhouse - for the British Heart Foundation/ Cancer UK.

Cameron Spicer. The club managers have been really impressed with the development of this young person. Not just from the fact that he is now listening - and looking to develop his potential as a cricketer, but more regarding his manner and attitude towards all that is asked of him – no matter what the task. In club matches, whilst having the desire to win, he recognizes that playing the game in the right spirit is very important, and he always shows a sporting attitude towards the opposition. In training he has now developed into someone who is very supportive of his own age group peers, - always encouraging and helping where he can.
£200 grant will be used for:
Purchasing weights, and wall mounted /fixings - to help secure the outside gazebo/marquee when erected for club functions.

Ollie Woodward. An unassuming young person who has developed and shown great personal effort and enthusiasm whilst at the club – in both his practice sessions and during matches. He has constantly demonstrated an enthusiasm to everything he has been asked to undertake, and has continually supported and helped others of lesser ability. This year he has caught the eye when playing, and has proved himself to be outstanding in the field – often saving vital runs at critical times.
£200 grant will be used for:
Purchasing new equipment items: Rubber based stumps - Kwik cricket stumps - and catching mitts.
Unfortunately, Ollie was away on a school trip so unable to attend the Presentation Evening. His award was collected by Manager, Adam Knapp.
Below is a group photo which includes two of the men who make all this possible - Stuart Borman (the club's Jack Petchey Co-ordinator), and Martin Ekers (Colts Chairman).

Front Row: William Bowden, Mayor Joan Holmes, George Ballington.
Autumn Winners x 3
Will Ashby, age 19. Will has been a member of the club since his early school days. However, because of other his other sporting commitments – (he represented South East England at basketball) he was unable to play as much cricket as he would have liked. This year though, when representing the senior cricket teams he has caught the eye both on and off the field. His manner when helping out with the younger age groups, and general sporting ethos has made him a firm favourite by all within the club.
£200 grant will be used:
Towards additional clubhouse curtains and blinds.
Frank Austin, age 19. Frank has been a regular at the club for over 10 years now. He has progressed through all the clubs colts’ age groups. Over the last couple of seasons he has gained and established himself in the club's senior 3rd XI side. Although studying out of the area now he has made the effort to still visit and appear for the club regularly. Frank has set a fine example for all the younger age group players who also aspire to play for the club's senior sides in the future. Frank has been nominated for his continual work and support to the club - both on and off the field.
£200 grant will be used:
Towards new ground covers.
Nathan Joyner, age 18. Nathan has featured on many occasions in the men’s teams this year. A quiet unassuming person who has sacrificed other social interests to make sure he is available to help the club when needed. No effort has been too much when asked, often with late notice. He also regularly helped support the club's official coaches during the summer, and this voluntary support work has lead to several nominations from members.
£200 grant will be used:
Towards club cricket net repair/improvements in early 2012.
