The Ballingtons meet Ricky Ponting

Two of Shenfield's Colts got the net practice of a lifetime when their father won a raffle prize of a session with Ricky Ponting. George and Tom Ballington (U13 and U11 respectively) thoroughly enjoyed the occasion as did their father Adrian. Ponting took a lot of time to work with George on a refinement of his grip and the results were impressive. The bowling highlight came when Tom dismissed Justin Langer second ball after some coaching from the Aussie captain. There was much laughter from his fellow Aussies and a good deal of embarrassment on Langer's part. But neither George nor Tom intend this to be the last big name victim on their cricketing resumés.
