Under 16s Stage Two Matchplay 2015
19th July 2015. The last of the Stage Two Matchplay games - against Loughton.
With some fantastic bowling and tremendous fielding Shenfield kept an Essex packed Loughton CC side to 238 runs in 40 overs. Shenfield taking 4 wickets. Jack Newton with 3 wickets to his name. Ben Hughes, Harsh Kumar and Lewis Southcott making great catches to put the pressure on their quality batting line up. Teddy Geddis was dynamic in the field. Harrison Sullivan equally performing well above his age. Charlie Haddon again kept the Loughton batsmen from scoring at will, and was the outstanding bowler of the Shenfield Matchplay campaign. Alfie Kingsley Smith also delivered a tight line and length to frustrate the opposition.
We had a solid start in reply from the opening Shenfield batsmen, Harsh Kumar with 88 runs and Rishi Roy-Mukherjee with 34 runs. Tom Ballington pushing the runs on with a quality 57. Aaron Babai came in and destroyed the opposition with 36 runs in 5 overs to chase the score down with 1.3 overs remaining.
I would personally like to thank all the boys for their commitment and entertainment as this year group have come to the end of 10 enjoyable and successful years.
