Ciaran has been a Colt at SCC for many seasons. Ciaran was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was 8. Recently, he moved from multiple daily insulin injections to pump therapy to help him to manage and control his blood sugar levels - a critical but tough job for an adult let alone a young boy. This has enabled him to continue his sport, particularly cricket, despite enduring many highs and lows (including several stints in hospital).
Despite this, Ciaran almost never misses a training session and can regularly be seen in and around the club on other nights and match days - even if he is not playing! He is one of our most enthusiastic colts members and all who know him well have been incredibly impressed with his positive attitude. Ciaran is now established in the U15 Hurricanes, having worked extremely hard over the past 2 seasons to significantly improve his all round game.
£200 grant: Ciaran would like to combine his award with Louis to help fund an end of season event for Parents, Colts and our Volunteers, during which our Jack Petchey winners can be recognised for their efforts.
